We are delighted to invite our fellow Montessorians to the 7th Nordic Montessori Conference in Bergen in September 2020. We are expecting to open up for registration in January 2020, however we would like to share as much information as possible with you now, so you can start to make your arrangements to visit Bergen next year!

The conference will take place from Friday 11th of September to Saturday 12th of September. We are also planning an additional professional development day on Sunday 13th of September.

Our venue will be Radisson Blu Royal Hotel, Bergen, located at the scenic and historic area Bryggen in Bergen.

The theme of the conference is «The Power of Language», and we are grateful and excited to welcome the following speakers (more information about speakers and topics to be announced):

  • Montessori teacher, trainer and Ed.D Michael Dorer: «The Transformative Power of Storytelling»
  • Lynne Lawrence, Executive Director of Association Montessori Internationale (AMI)
  • AMI-trainers Madlena Ulrich and Carla Foster
  • Tomas Myklebust, psychologist specialized in clinical neuropsychology, and a passionate speaker on brain research and debunking brain myths.

Friday:
16.00-17.00: Transport with the funicular Fløibanen to Fløien Folkerestaurant

17.30: Official Opening Reception
Entertainment and traditional Norwegian tapas

Saturday:
09.00-16.00: Conference

The Nordic Montessori Conference concludes with a dinner Saturday evening.

Additional and optional day
Sunday: Professional development (09.30-15.00)

With so many Montessorians in Bergen at the same time, we are making plans to make the most of it! We are planning a full-day of professional development – with one workshop for Montessori leaders and administrators, and  one workshop for Montessori teachers and assistants. These workshops will be hosted at the conference venue on Sunday, and will not be included in the conference fee. More information on theme, speakers and program to be announced.

Fees:
Nordic Montessori Conference fee (includes reception, tapas and transport with Fløibanen on Friday, and conference, lunch, and dinner on Saturday).

Early Bird (ends 1st of April): 2600 NOK
Conference fee (from 2nd of April): 3000 NOK

Professional Development on Sunday (lunch included): 1500 NOK

Accommodation:
Our venue hotel Radisson Blu Royal Hotel, Bergen offers the following prices to our conference participants:

Room for 1 person per night: 1545 NOK
Room for 2 persons per night: 1645 NOK

We will also put together a list of alternative acommodation and other information that may be useful.
